Single Plant Deep Dive

Your plant friends are waiting for you.

  • Have you heard the call but are not sure where to start?

  • Are you wanting to get to know a plant on a deeper level?

  • Do you want to geek out on plants with people are equally as excited?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you’re officially invited to Single Plant Deep Dive, a series where you will be guided into deeper relationship with just one plant.

Why one plant, you ask?

Because this is about building a relationship. There are many ways to do that, but in this series we are going to move slow, connect, sit with our plant friends, and learn about them and with them from many different angles.

This is not about consuming a little bit of information about a lot of plants. This course is a deep dive into just one plant of your choice.

When we try to learn 100, 52, even 8 plants at a time, we can miss out on some of the juiciness and depth of creating relationships with one at a time. Capitalism and white supremacy culture may tell us more is better, but we have the choice to pause, pull back, and build intentional relationship. Just like when you enter a new space, you may see 26 new faces (or cute puppies!), but it would be tough to get to know them all at the same time. Just like with people, there will be some plants that we are drawn to that we will get to know first, and then perhaps (or not!), we will build deeper relationships with another friend. And some plants (or many) we may never get to know. We may not even learn their names.

You choose your own plant and will be guided through different activities, ways of researching and ways of knowing, ethics around harvesting, foraging, and honoring the land, and practices to be with your plant friend so that you can start to get to know them or deepen the relationship you already have.

Each session will explore different ways to get to know our plant friends. There will be home practices for you to try and experience in between each session.
