Grave Joy Plantings
Is there a loved one's grave in the Pittsburgh area that you’d like to plant flowers on, but for one reason or the other cannot (all reasons are valid reasons)?
Enter- the Grave Joy Plantings. Planting plants on our loved ones' graves can be an act of honoring or remembering. But life doesn’t always allow us to do it ourselves.
This offering is inspired by my own family’s tradition. Every year myself, my mother, and my cousins plant flowers together on our ancestors' graves. Realizing not everyone wants to/has the capacity to/can physically plant flowers on their loved ones graves, but may want to make sure their graves are being tidied, kept up, and cared for, Grave Joy Plantings was born.
Why Grave Joy Plantings? Well, because we are bringing some joy to graves through plantings. :)

The process:
You’ll book a 60 minute time slot for you and I to talk. During this time:
You can tell me about your loved one, any plants they liked or that you like, their favorite songs, anything special about them.
We’ll also talk about the logistics like, where they are buried and anything else that feels important to share.
After our call, I’ll do a little research about the cemetery to see what types of plants are allowed and think about what would/wouldn’t make sense to plant there. I’ll email you with what I’ve come up with and a date range that I’ll be heading to the cemetery.
Next up, I’ll gather the plants and bring them to the cemetery to plant. While planting I’ll talk to your loved one or play them some favorite songs. I can leave written notes or burn some incense, or leave any specially requested items (as long as it’s allowed by the cemetery). I’ll take care and spend time there in ritual tidying and tending to your loved one’s grave.
Finally, I’ll send you photos and share any messages that may have come through while I was visiting your loved one.

Exchange:
